Dear Friends of the Clinton County Farmers' Market,

Some of my favorite childhood memories of the summer revolve around vegetable gardens - the proud responsibility of picking green beans with my grandmother, the humor of stories shared as we shucked dozens upon dozens of my grandfather's sweet corn, the excitement of that first red tomato plucked from the vine.

One of the many reasons that I love my time spent at the Clinton County Farmers' Market is that it brings back so many of those great memories. When I am at the Market, I get to spend time with people who work hard, but passionately, for the fruits (and vegetables) of their labor. I get to joke and laugh, listen to stories and tell a few myself, while experiencing a true sense of community. And to top it all off, I get to enjoy the same delicious, local food that reminds me that it never tastes better than when a tomato is fresh-picked, a loaf of bread is baked that morning, or a pound of ground beef comes from a cow down the road.

I invite you to share your favorite garden memories or why you love the Clinton County Farmers' Market! Send your stories (and contact info) to me at "dessie@clintoncountyfarmersmarket.com" for a chance to have your tale featured on our Market website.

Join us at the Market this Wednesday, July 13th, from 4:00 pm - 7:00 pm to stock up on your favorite local treats!
